This is a just a quick and dirty setup I once used to slow down the Grizzly grinder, before I had a variable speed grinder. I just used a second 8″ contact wheel that I had in the shop attached to the buffing end of the grinder. I attached a small pulley on a motor shaft and ran a belt between the two.

G1015 Grizzly Knife Belt Sander / Buffer. A very nice grinder. I used the 1X 30 for 3+ years until a bearing went out. I used is as an excuse to go ead a purchase the 2x72. I am very happy with the new machine, much faster and more precise. The belts are a bit more expensive but they should last longer.

LOT NUMBER: 62 Racine model W3B power hacksaw. This unit was donated to The Foundery and was never put into service. We were told that it was operational prior to disassembly but we cannot confirm. Both machines arrived this week and after wrestling them into my basement I put them together. The spindle sander was simple, the knife sander not so easy. It arrives as essentially a motor and a box of parts. The motor is a double spindle 1HP totally enclosed grinder motor, nicely finished. The sander comes as a box of semiassembled parts.
